What is your background?
I love children and I like English, so I jumped into a "teach English to children" job. I traveled through many countries by backpacking alone. The things I learned from those experiences and the toughness shaped me into who I am now. I have been managing UI by fusing what I learned, such as early childhood education, coaching, NLP, exchange analysis, etc.
こどもが大好きで、英語が好きで「子供に英語を教える」仕事に飛びつきました。
若い頃はバックパッカーで各国を一人で旅をしていました。旅から学んだ多くのことや身に付けたたくましさは、今の自分に大きな力になっていると思います。
幼児教育、コーチング、NLP、マインドマップ、方眼ノート、アドラー心理学、交流分析、フォトリーディングなど、学んだことを総動員して今のUIを形作ってきました。
What is your goal/mission?
I think that UI’s English education is recognized to some extent, however the philosophy of UI, which forms our backbone, is not. My mission is to pursue the spirit I founded this school on and realize that philosophy.
UIの英語指導は、ある程度みなさんにご認識いただいているかと思いますが、私たちのバックボーンをささえるフィロソフィーはまだまだお伝えできていないな、と感じています。
UIの理念、創業の精神の実現こそがわたしのミッションです。
What do you do in your free time?
I enjoy cooking, doing pilates, yoga, breathing exercises, and swimming. I believe that what we eat and how we eat creates our body. And our body deeply affects learning and our way of thinking. So I have a dream that someday I can incorporate them into the education of UI.
食べ物を用意したり、ピラティスやヨガ、呼吸法、瞑想、水泳などを楽しんだりしています。食と身体を整える事が、学習や考え方に深く影響を与えていると感じていますので、いつかUIの教育に組み込んで行けたらという夢があります。
What do you like/think about Tokushima/Japan?
The laid back atmosphere, rivers, mountains, and Awa Odori!
まったりとした空気、川、山、そして阿波踊りが大好き！
Where would you like to go if you had a long holiday?
I want to go to breathe the air of unexplored areas such as South India, Morocco, Kenya, and for relaxation I’d be happy to go back to Hawaii or Sedona. I would also like to eat Hue dish in Vietnam. Or, I want to walk through the Australian Rain Forest as I used to enjoy when I was young. But that is just my heart flying all over the place. When I think of Momo, we might drive to the Northeast of Japan with a camper together.
南インド、モロッコ、ケニアなど未踏の地の空気を吸いに行きたいし、でもハワイやセドナでゆったりくつろぐのもいいな。ベトナムでフエ料理をゆったりと食べていたい。あるいは、若い頃やってたようにオーストラリアのレインフォレストをひたすら歩きたい。気持ちは飛んでいきますが、モモが寂しがることを思うと・・・キャンピングカーで東北でもドライブにいこうかな。

Japanese food and all different kind of ethnic food....that means I like any kind of food.

There are a lot of English schools in Japan. Why did you decide to work at UI?
Because I created it to realize my philosophy.
