What do you enjoy the most about teaching?
I enjoy seeing the “ah-ha” moments, which is when students understand something they have been struggling with before.
生徒たちが今まで分からなかったことに対して「あっ、分かった！」となった瞬間を見るのが楽しいです。
What do you do in your free time?
I usually read books, spend time with friends, or go exploring, particularly if it means I can go hiking and traveling during my exploration.
たいていは読書をしたり、友達と過ごしたり、冒険に出たりしています。冒険と言っても、ハイキングや旅行を兼ねてということですけどね！
What do you like/think about Tokushima/Japan?
I really like that Tokushima is a very small city, because the last place I lived had 5 million people!
徳島は小さい町なので大好きです。前に住んでいたところは500万人もの人がいましたから！
Where would you like to go if you had a long holiday?
If I had a long holiday, I would like to go to Hokkaido.
長いお休みが取れたら、北海道に行ってみたいです。
What is your favorite Japanese food?
I cannot choose between ramen and sushi, I love them both.
ラーメンとお寿司が大好きです。どちらかは選べません。
If you could be any kind of plant, what would you be?
I would be a tree, and not just any tree: I would be the coastal redwood tree called Hyperion, the tallest tree in the world.
木になりたいです。
ただの木ではなくて、カリフォルニア州レッドウッド沿岸にある世界で最も高い木であるハイペリオンという木になりたいです。
There are a lot of English schools in Japan. Why did you decide to work at UI?
I chose UI because the school appeared warm and welcoming, and I really liked the staff.
とても暖かく歓迎してくれましたし、スタッフの皆がとても好きになったからです。
Who is your favorite super hero?
My favorite super hero is Wonder Woman.

Both! I adore them so much!

Water, because it’s better for us and I don’t like the taste of beer.

If I could have both at once, I would, so both!

Natto or Goya?
Neither! Even though I’ve tried both, I don’t think I’ll ever try either of them again.
どっちもあまり…両方食べたことはありますが、もう一度食べたいとは思いませんでした。
