Where are you from?
I am half Norwegian and Filipino, but grew most of my life in Norway.
ノルウェー人とフィリピン人のハーフなのですが、ほとんどノルウェー育ちです。
What is your background?
I have a BSc in Psychology and MSc in Occupational Psychology.
心理学で学士号を、職業心理学で修士号を取りました。
What do you enjoy the most about teaching?
Seeing students grow and develop, and support them solve language barriers.
生徒たちが成長し上達していくのを見ること、そして彼らをサポートすることが言葉の壁を取り払ってくれると思います。
What is your goal/mission?
As a teacher is to create an environment where the students can grow to their innate potential.
先生としての目標は、生徒たちが生まれ持った可能性を伸ばせる環境を作ることです。
What do you do in your free time?
I like going for stroll at least few times a day. I also enjoy reading Jungian Psychology which involves analysis of symbols and dreams.
１日に数回、お散歩に行くのが好きです。それとシンボルや夢の分析に関するユング心理学の本を読むことも楽しんでいます。
What do you like/think about Tokushima/Japan?
They are the most friendly people I have encountered so far. I also like it’s close to mountains and forest where one can enjoy the fresh air and enjoy the scenery.
徳島の人たちは、自分が出会った中でも、もっともフレンドリーな人々だと思います。
それと景色や新鮮な空気を楽しめる山や森に近いことも気に入っています。
What do you not like about Tokushima?
Difficult to tell as it has been a positive experience so far
まだ決めるのは難しいですが、今のところ良い経験をしているなと感じています。
Where would you like to go if you had a long holiday?
I am not interested to travel to other countries for now, it would be nice to travel around Japan, places such as Kyoto, Osaka, Tokyo and Hokkaido
今は他の国へ旅をすることに興味はなく、京都、大阪、東京や北海道など、日本中を旅したいと思っています。
Who is your idol?
I cannot say to look up to anyone. However, there are people that I can respect, people such as Carl Jung which developed the symbolic method of dream analysis.
誰かを崇拝しているとは言えませんが、尊敬している人々はいます。例えば、夢分析の象徴となる方法を開発したカール・ユングです。
What was your childhood dream?
To become a movie star
映画スターになることでした。
What is your favorite Japanese food?
For now it’s Salmon and rice.
いまのところ、サケとごはんです。
What is your favorite kind of food?
I like Indian food, mostly rice based.

If you could be any kind of plant, what would you be?
Titan Arum is a giant plant

There are a lot of English schools in Japan. Why did you decide to work at UI?
I decided to study at UI school of English because they reflects my values. It values the individual within the collective, and vise versa, which reflect the Jungian Psychology I have immersed myself in. The symbol is reflected within the UI logo.
UIスクールで一緒に学びたいと思った理由は、私の価値感を反映していると思ったからです。集団内での個人を尊重しており、またその逆もしかりで、私が没頭してきたユング心理学を反映していると感じました。また、それはUIのロゴにも反映されていると思います。
