講師 トシコ・タナカ

I am originally from Ghana! I was born in Ghana but grew up in different places like Ethiopia, Mauritius, Zimbabwe and Malaysia.

私はもともとガーナの出身です。ガーナで生まれましたが、エチオピア、モーリシャス、ジンバブエ、マレーシアなど、さまざまな場所で育ちました。

Academically, I majored in Studio art and communication studies. Previously, I worked as an ALT.

学生時代は、スタジオアートとコミュニケーション学を専攻していました。
また以前は、ALTとして働いていました。

I enjoy getting to know more about my students, because I think it really helps to build some trust.

生徒のことをどんどん知っていくのがとても楽しいです。知れば知るほど、生徒ともっと信頼関係を築くことができますから。

I want to grow as an educator and an individual- I want to give more back so that maybe I can receive more out of life too. But since coming to Japan a current personal goal of mine is to study Japanese, and develop my literary skills. Learning Japanese feels like a life skill, living in Japan.

教育者として、そして一人の人間として、成長していきたいです。
人生からより多くのものを受け取ることができるように、
たくさんのものを周りに与えていきたいと思っています。
しかし現在の私の目標は、日本語を勉強し日本語の能力を高めることです。
日本語を学ぶことは、日本で生活する上で必要なスキルだと感じています。

I enjoy watching movies, sightseeing and working on my art.

映画鑑賞、観光、アート制作をして楽しんでいます。

I think about beautiful mountain ranges and the sea- I also recently learnt about indigo dye and I think the colour is absolutely beautiful! Tokushima has a lot of amazing local artisans.

山と海が美しいですね。
また、最近、藍染について学びましたが、その色も本当に美しいと思います。
徳島には素晴らしい職人さんがたくさんいます。

To be a zoologist/explorer

動物学者・探検家になることでした。

I would like to be a sunflower, they can grow very tall and are extremely vibrant-
People and birds love them! And it would be nice to be a sunflower in a sunflower field.

私はひまわりになりたいです。ひまわりはとても背が高く生き生きとしていますから。
人間も鳥もひまわりが大好きですよね。ひまわり畑でひまわりになれたらいいなと思います。

I really liked the mission statement of the school. I was drawn to the friendly, yet close-knit atmosphere and so far it has been great!

UIの理念がとても気に入りました。みんなフレンドリーで、親密な雰囲気に惹かれました。
今のところ最高です！
