What is your background?

I was born and raised in Tokushima.
I studied European history and English at Ehime University.

徳島県出身ですが、愛媛大学に通っていたので、4年間は松山市内にも住んでいました。
大学での主専攻は西洋史で、副専攻で英語を学んでいました。

What do you enjoy the most about teaching?

I enjoy when students ask me questions not only about grammar, but also about cultural differences.
This gives us a chance to think together and talk with foreign teachers.
At such times, I am glad because I can feel the students’ motivation and interest in English increasing.

生徒たちが英文法の質問だけでなく、海外との文化的な違いなどについて質問をしてくることがあります。
その時に一緒に考え、ネイティブの先生とも一緒に話をすることで、生徒たちの英語への関心がさらに深まっているなと感じた時、とても嬉しく感じます。

What is your goal/mission?

I’d like to try my best to support my students to broaden their perspective and perhaps go abroad in the future.

生徒たちの視野が広がり、外国へと飛び出していけるように全力でサポートしていきたいと思います。

What do you do in your free time?

I enjoy watching foreign dramas and movies, visiting art museums and going to hot springs.
I also like exploring the islands of the Seto Inland Sea.

海外の映画やドラマ鑑賞。温泉に行くこと。瀬戸内の島々を巡って探索すること。美術館や展示品をめぐること。

Where would you like to go if you had a long holiday?

Perth in Australia…to see quokkas
Finland….to go to Santa Claus’ Village and Moominworld

オーストラリアのパース・・・クオッカワラビーに会うため
フィンランド・・・・サンタクロース村とムーミンワールドに行くため

There are a lot of English schools in Japan. Why did you decide to work at UI?

Originally, I was a student at UI. I was impressed by the school’s atmosphere and the teachers’ hospitality. So, when I was offered a job here, I was happy to accept it.

UIの生徒として通い、とても心地のいい環境で学べたこと、先生一人一人のホスピタリティの高さに感動し、UIの一員となりました。
